Ford Engineers Study the Sound of the All-New Mustang

Ford Mustangs do not all sound the same, in fact there are powertrain noise, vibration and harshness Mustang engineers who focus all of their time ensuring that every Mustang sounds like a Mustang, no matter what engine is installed. “Our goal in developing this new generation was to create a sports car that is quintessentially Mustang, with contemporary, world-class levels of performance and refinement. We created an exceptionally solid platform to give us the flexibility we need to meet our diverse range of targets,” said Dave Pericak, Mustang Chief Engineer. The noise of the Ford sportscar is extremely important to the overall driving experience and combining a visually pleasing vehicle with audible entertainment, the result can be rewarding.

Ford Donates $1 Million to Smithsonian National Museum

Ford Working on Facial Recognition Technology

Ford has been busy working on the latest technology – recently the American automaker has announced its joint efforts with Intel to design a facial recognition system for future generation Ford vehicles. The project is known as “Mobile Interior Imaging” and “Project Mobii” – the purpose of this technology is to create a more personal connection between the driver and the vehicle. Don Butler, Executive Director of Connected Vehicles said, “Mobii is a great example of culture of experimentation. I don’t know what the user interface of the future is going to be. I know that increasingly, I’ve got sensors, cameras, technology. So we said let’s try to mash some stuff together and see what happens.” Although this project is still under an experimental phase, Ford is confident that the project will develop into something great.
