Car Considered “Most Valuable Ford Model” – Up for Auction

A prototype vehicle which was originally built to upset Enzo Ferrari is known as the Ford GT40 – After a disagreement with Ferrari in the early 1960s, regarding control over the racing program, Henry Ford II asked his team to build a car capable to embarrass his rival on the world racing stage. His team worked diligently to produce what is now known as the Ford GT40. There were only four vehicles made with this particular chassis, but the only one that remains an original and includes the unique nose and tail sections will be auctioned off in Monterey, CA by RM Auctions of Blenheim, Ontario. The four-time Le Mans winner will be on auction this August.

EcoBoost Coming to the 2015 Ford Mustang

The 2015 Ford Mustang has been one of the most talked about Ford models recently because of the optional EcoBoost 2.3 liter four-cylinder engine option that Ford recently announced. Traditionally, a V6 and V8 engine can be found under the Ford Mustang’s hood, but now it has swapped the bigger engines for the EcoBoost engine. Although the engine will be smaller, the EcoBoost is expected to push 305 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft. of torque; compared to the V6’s 300 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque.

Ford Introduces New Mondeo

The world's most advanced engine will be in a Ford – the Ford Mondeo. Sources say that it will be the first 1-litre engine to be in a family car. Contrary to common belief, this vehicle will go twenty miles further than the previous model. Some quick facts about the new Ford Mondeo are: 1. The engine block can fit onto a sheet of A4 paper 2. Ford Mustang Inspired Nail Polish

In commemorating the 50^th anniversary of the Mustang, there has been a flood of Mustang related merchandise, including nail polish. Female mustang owners who may be looking for an extra personal way to connect with their Mustangs can now get nail polish colors inspired by their cars. OPI recently partnered with Ford to produce a limited edition nail polish collection – the color options vary: Race Red, 50 Years of Style, Queen of the Road, Girls Love Ponies, Angel with a Leadfood, and The Sky’s My Limit. This is not the first time Ford has partnered up with OPI; back in 2005, Ford released a series of Pony inspired nail colors as well. Mark Fields new Ford CEO

Ford Motors recently announced that their current CEO Alan Mulally will retire July 1^st – his shoes will be filled by long-time Ford executive Mark Fields, who is currently the company’s COO. Alan Mulally is considered to be one of the most influential men in Ford’s history. Mulally, is responsible for converting Ford into the money-making power corporation that it is today. His retirement came about six months early – Ford said, “July is approximately six months earlier than previously anticipated, following Mulally’s recommendation to accelerate the timetable based on the readiness of Ford’s leadership team.” Although Mr. Mulally, will be tremendously missed, Ford is happy to know that he is looking forward to this new chapter in life.
