Ford Motors recently announced that their current CEO Alan Mulally
will retire July 1st – his shoes will be filled by long-time Ford
executive Mark Fields, who is currently the company’s COO. Alan Mulally is
considered to be one of the most influential men in Ford’s history. Mulally, is
responsible for converting Ford into the money-making power corporation that it
is today. His retirement came about six months early – Ford said, “July is
approximately six months earlier than previously anticipated, following
Mulally’s recommendation to accelerate the timetable based on the readiness of
Ford’s leadership team.” Although Mr. Mulally, will be tremendously missed,
Ford is happy to know that he is looking forward to this new chapter in life.
