Ford has been busy working on the latest technology –
recently the American automaker has announced its joint efforts with Intel to
design a facial recognition system for future generation Ford vehicles. The
project is known as “Mobile Interior Imaging” and “Project Mobii” – the purpose
of this technology is to create a more personal connection between the driver
and the vehicle. Don Butler, Executive Director of Connected Vehicles said,
“Mobii is a great example of culture of experimentation. I don’t know what the
user interface of the future is going to be. I know that increasingly, I’ve got
sensors, cameras, technology. So we said let’s try to mash some stuff together
and see what happens.” Although this project is still under an experimental
phase, Ford is confident that the project will develop into something great.
